VIRES Simulationstechnologie GmbH, part of the MSC Software Group of Companies, est. 1996, is a leading supplier of simulation solutions for development, test and validation of systems in active safety, advanced driver assistance and highly automated driving applications. VIRES serves the automotive industry world-wide from OEM to component supplier level. MSC Software is part of Hexagon.
VIRES Virtual Test Drive (VTD®) is a complete tool-chain for driving simulation applications.
VTD provides a modular tool-set for road network creation, scenario definition, vehicle dynamics, traffic and sound simulation, simulation control, image generation, sensor perception etc. It uses established standard file formats.
VTD also provides open interfaces for 3rd party components and a plug-in concept with API for 3rd party modules; it allows for wide-ranging customization of its functionality. It is an established software package which is in service at numerous installations in the automotive and railroad industry.
Esther Hekele
VIRES Simulationstechnologie GmbH
Esther Hekele graduated 1992 with a master degree in electrical electronic engineering at Imperial College in London. After university she joined Siemens and worked initially as a SW-developer in the telecommunication branch. After a few years she changed to System Integration and System Testing.
Esther Hekele joined VIRES in 2011. She soon started training ROD and Scenario Editor. This was then quickly extended to VTD Basics. Her main task at VIRES is to test VTD, which gives her a broad knowledge of VTD.
